pic Apple Poem

Apple Poem

Bury my body,
Plant an apple seed six feet up'
The roots tap into the meat of me,
And get what they need to grow.
Bury my bones
And let those roots wrap 'round them.
Let those roots suck my body dry
Of blood and tears and turmoil and life.
Take the tiny hearts of the branch,
And they are each full of my blood,
The juice that runs down your chin
Is my sweet sweat and saliva-
The core you throw out, my spine.
These seeds are each a memory,
Core to me,
And hopefully special to others.
